Description
Here for sale is a superb example of a 1950’s style two seater convertible sports car built in 2004 by JBA Motor Engineering at their works factory in Norwich. Based on a 1989 Ford Sierra engine and running gear it’s a genuine car in its own right as defined by the V5 document stating it’s a JBA Falcon SRI and the original VOSA certificate. This is not a Kit Car made by an amateur motor mechanic in a back street shed (not that there’s anything wrong with that). The power unit is the much renowned 2ltr four-cylinder Pinto engine with a five speed fully synchromesh gearbox. With a weight of around 700Kgs on a bespoke chassis, Aluminium and Fiber body shell, all stainless bright work, wooden dashboard, iconic “pepper pot” wheels and adjustable front suspension for road or track this is a real head turner. With a top speed of well over 80mph and 0 – 60 in around ten seconds this car will give endless miles of great sounding driving. Fully serviced with 2021 tyres and under 12, 000 miles from new the vehicle has been on SORN in locked, secure storage since October 2024 with an MOT that expires in September 2025. If you’d like a 50’s MG TF but can’t afford the price tag this is recommended viewing. Offers around £21, 000 considered for this reluctant sale due to the space needed for other classics. This is a very reliable and fun to drive classic sports tourer. Our last trip in the summer of 2024 was to Jersey and Guernsey for the battle of flowers where we had comments like "is it Bergerac's car". If you don't like people asking questions or taking pictures of the car then you shouldn't buy it.
