Description
Saab 9000 Griffin 2. 3 Auto.
One of an estimated 7 on the road in the UK, this is a very rare Saab indeed and was rare from new. The Griffin represented the top specification at the time, differing from the Aero in terms of bodystyle and focus (luxury rather than sport).
This example is a high mileage survivor, in need of some work but also an example that runs well. As a result, it could represent a good buy for someone who is looking for a car to use, enjoy and do some light work on.
Currently, it requires:
Interior fan repair, may need replacement or maintenance. Not fully investigated yet.
Replacement aerial, one is with the car.
Refurbished wooden door cappings, require varnish.
"Door service" to both rear doors to free up the lock mechanisms so they work remotely. Work just fine manually, the actuators don't have a lot of oomph on these cars!
Boost gauge hose requires reconnection.
The car has an MOT until March 2026. It was serviced on 28th June 2025, with new oil, air filter, oil filter, spark plugs and pollen filter. A cam cover gasket and blanking plug arrived recently, will either be fitted or included.
Recently (3 weeks ago) the governor seals on the automatic gearbox were replaced along with fresh gearbox oil and a filter.
There are a few small bubbles here and there in the bodywork.
The car would make a great hobby car, and I bought it as such in May. However, I have to accept that my life simply doesn't have time for working on cars anymore and as a result I would like to move it on for my recent purchase price + the cost of gearbox work. Service history present, there is a gap while it was unused for a few years. Lots of receipts.
