Description
For sale is my much loved 1987 VW T25/ T3 2. 1 DJ 5 speed with twin sliding doors. I bought the van late last year with the intention of turning it into my dream T25 but unfortunately a new job with a bit of a commute necessitated a car purchase and space is somewhat tight here so sadly the van has to go. I've done/ had done thousands of pounds worth of work to get it as I wanted it and all of the new parts, including the wheels, tyres and suspension have less than 500 miles on them. I had a replacement used 150k mile DJ engine professionally fitted which was set up by an ex-VW technician who apparently connected lots of 1980s style computers up to different parts of the engine to get it running just right. Lots of receipts available to prove work done and most of the parts have been ordered from Brickwerks with VW Heritage and Just Kampers making up the remainder.
All of the major issues that these vans suffer from have been dealt with so the new owner should be able to have plenty of miles without worrying about any big problems. The van will also come with a spare DJ engine for rebuild and a set of 14x7 deep dish genuine BBS alloys if the offer is right. Both of these items are very hard to find so a great bonus to the new owner if they want them.

Less good stuff:
-Heater fan doesn't work.
-The engine was found to have a little wear (as most do) but runs better than any other I looked at following a thorough going over and set up by a T25 trained ex-VW engineer. Burns little or no oil and is all but inaudible at 50mph in fifth whilst still having that flat four character.
-A few scrapes and dinks or "character marks" as my other half calls them!
-There's a small rust hole in the drivers side sliding door.
-Some wear on the drivers seat bolster, but doesn't affect comfort. The previous owner had the van for 13 years and claimed to have only used it twice a year to head down to Cornwall. He added the livery on the side as his brother in law had apparently invested in the distillery and he liked the logo, which certainly gets a lot of attention. The guy who owned it before that bought the van at Bugjam and painted it it's current colour, which I believe is a Toyota colour from the early 2000s. He enjoyed the van and remembers it well enough to have commented on it after seeing a post I'd put online!
