Condition Overview:
This is a straight, original E36 that wears its age honestly. Please refer to the photos for full visual detail:
Paintwork presents well overall, with some lacquer peel and rust on the bonnet and boot trim, and a small blemish near the rear light
Soft top is worn and with a sealant fix on the window stitching but still servicable. The rear section occasionally needs a gentle manual assist to release – a known quirk that’s been present since we bought the car
Wheels are original with typical age-related kerbing
Interior is clean and complete, all switchgear functions working.
Bodywork is straight and structurally solid — no rust in arches, sills, or known trouble spotsDocumentation:
V5 present – one family owner since 2002
HPI clear
Original BMW immobiliser certificate
Full BMW wallet: manuals, service book, warranty docs, and receipts
MOT mileage trail from 2003 to present fully documented
Ideal Buyer?
Perfect for someone who appreciates a straight, genuine E36 with proper provenance and wants a usable classic they can gradually finish to their taste. A solid foundation — no rust chasing, no surprises — just the usual trim/ cosmetic refinements left to do.
We're not looking to hand it off to a flipper. This is for someone who knows what they're getting and wants to use and enjoy it.
Plenty of photos included, but happy to send specific shots if there’s anything you’d like to see in more detail..
Reason for sale: After over 20 years in the family, it’s time to let someone else enjoy it. I haven’t got a garage, otherwise I would be keeping it. It deserves better than being covered up on a driveway through another winter.
Happy to answer any questions—genuine interest welcome. It’s a lovely example, and I’d be happy to talk about it.
