This 1980 Yamaha XT500 is a great, restored example of the legendary big-bore enduro motorcycle, presented from factory in a sleek black and silver colour scheme. Powered by the iconic 499cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine (producing 32bhp), paired with a dry weight of 140kg, this bike delivers a punchy, torquey ride perfect for both on- and off-road adventures. The odometer reads 22 662km, with the motor delivering smooth and consistent power in its unrestored form.
RESTORATION HIGHLIGHTS
This bike was previously restored which included the following :
- Frame, swingarm, springs & various components sandblasted and powdercoated.
- Drum brakes, gauges, tank & various components sandblasted and painted.
- All bolts & nuts either zinc-plated or chromed for corrosion resistance.
- 6V points ignition replaced with a modern “Rex’s Speed Shop 6V electronic ignition & CDI system” for improved starting, power & reliability.
- Engine vapor blasted and painted
- Engine fully serviced (valve lash adjusted, timing chain tensioned, new oil filter, new oil, new spark plug, all copper washers & O-rings replaced)
- Rims professionally restored & polished, fitted with new Yamaha spokes.
- Aluminium tank in good condition (has one small ding) with period-correct decals
- Original seat reupholstered
- Kenda tires front & rear in good condition for on/ off-road use
- Lights & indicators functional

We will crate, clear and ship the motorcycle to the UK as well as cover the costs of unloading, customs and clearance in the UK.
