Reluctantly up for sale is my 1960 Piaggio Vespa GS150 VS5 in original paint, beautiful patina and very rare to find like this in the U. K.
Genuine Italian machine, imported to the U. K. from San Marino.
Rebuilt during lockdown, no expense spared on engine rebuild and original parts used where possible.
Really straight frame with no rot.
Built to be ridden and not a garage ornament so some sensible upgrades were installed, spec below.
Engine:
Original 150cc barrel and head
Mauro Pascoli exhaust
SIP racing crankshaft with needle roller small end and PX crank stub
Pinasco power clutch with DRT 23 tooth primary gear
12v Vape electronic ignition
Polini CP23 carb conversion
Bar Italia (USA) choke conversion
Frame
SIP 12v loom and ignition switch, eliminating the need for a battery (Achilles heel of the GS)
BGM fast flow fuel tap
Pinasco front damper
Premium seat cover on original seat frame
Original mph Speedo rebuilt by Speedo King in the USA, approx 900 miles ridden since the rebuild.
All bearings, rubber bushes, oil seals etc were replaced during the rebuild and main side bronze bearing seat was replaced via Nagy in Germany.
It’s one of the best handling Vespas I’ve ever ridden and starts easily with the modern carb.
