Description
Due to serious health issues, we are reluctantly passing on our Daimler Dart, “Doris”, to someone who can give her a good home and make use of her. Doris is a true "C" specification, featuring matching numbers, an original, thicker fibreglass body, an unusual original number plate, and a Heritage certificate. She has been regularly serviced with the right oil, including oil analysis, etc. We also have the standard documentation, the original handbook and the very rare “Specification supplement”.
The interior is all original, including the “Stratstone” nameplate. To make her 100%, the body will need to be repainted and fettled. Her upgrades are:
- Overdrive
- Rack and pinion steering
- Alternator conversion
- Rear telescopic shocks (mountings all checked and sound with no corrosion).
- Gearbox rebuilt with a new input shaft (very rare and will mean you can continue to use the original gearbox).
- Original Interior.
- Kenlow electric fan.
- Cylinder heads were reworked by Russ Carpenter and mildly ported, and valve stems were converted for unleaded petrol.
- Electronic ignition.
- Original Chrome bumpers, etc. (not the cheap re-chromed ones).
- Original "C" spec body.
- MGF front seats, but also have the originalsI am a memeber of the Daimler and Lancester Owners Club (DLOC) and searched viewed many car for a very long time for the right Daimler Dart. I purchased "Doris" about 12 years ago from a club member after she was recommended to me by a senior club official who knew her very well. She has been extremely well looked after and is mechanically in A1 condition. The bodywork could do with a tidy up; hence, the reduced price for a true "C" Specification with matching numbers.
