Description
For sale is my 1958 Series 2 Land Rover, with Series 3 features. I purchased it from a family friend who rebuilt the car from the ground up, with a mix of new and reconditioned parts and panels. Notable features of the restoration are a new galvanised chassis, complete engine and gearbox rebuild and partially rebuilt bulkhead. During the rebuild, some series 3 parts where added for comfort/ convenience or due to rarity of '58 series 2 parts. These features include the wings, headlights and grill. The gearbox has been upgraded to the series 3 full synchromesh and a series 3 heater matrix has been included. Since purchasing, it has had a bespoke made bench seat fitted in the cab.
The car is in great condition overall, starts and runs every time. The exterior paint is in good condition with only some light touchups needed. The rear bed could use painting as it has been used as a true Land Rover should and the spare tire could do with replacing as it has begun to perish. Open to offers. I purchased the car as a fun weekend vehicle and well because it's a classic Land Rover. Unfortunately in the time I've owned it chances to use it for a fun car have been few and far between. It has been used around two dozen times in the last 18 months and is the main reason for the sale. Such a car should be enjoyed and appreciated not left sitting on a driveway. Despite this it has been kept well, it has been kicked up and left to warm up periodically and kept under a Richbrook all weather cover when not in use. It's a great car to drive, with a lovely sounding engine and whilst not the fastest, it's more of a lively and connected drive than I've had in any other vehicle I've driven.
