Description
Very original Humber Hawk Mark VI with fantastic history.
The car was originally owned by a hotel in Bristol as a courtesy car, in 1960 it was sold to a private owner who's family kept the car until about 2017. The car then passed on to me in 2021. There is a ton of paperwork with it from its trade in back in 1960 right through to today.
The car has had a Sunbeam Talbot 90 final drive fitted for better cruising although this makes the speedo and odometer under-read.
The previous owner had the sills replaced and I had a small amount of work done to the lower edges of the front wings and then had the car fully resprayed in 2K Black. I also had some rechroming done. Other than this the car is really original.
It would be the buyers choice whether to further tidy the car up or enjoy the mature patina of the leather interior...
Other notable work done - recored radiator, rebuilt carburettor, rebuilt brakes, and more general service and maintenance work. It has an aftermarket air filter on as the hose for the standard air box split, the standard oil bath type filter is still in the car.
Loads of parts included includng an overdrive gearbox, prop and switches if you want to convert it. I have a pair of used tail lights (hard to find) a used carburettor and some misc bits of service items etc. all of which can go with the car including a set of wheels and a set of cross ply tyres (the car is on radials right now). I also have freshly rechromed over riders which have not been fitted back on the car yet.
Sadly there has been a few places where the new paint has reacted, so its not so perfect looking as it was when it was first done, but it still presents very very well.
The Humber hasn't had much use in the last couple of years so I would recommend a bit of tweaking and fettling before you drive it any distance.
Sad to see it go, but I need the space and the money unfortunately.
