Rare 1957 small oval rear window VW Beetle 1200 that returned back to the UK in 2015 from New Zealand, assembled from imported kits by Jowett, back in the day. I still have the original NZ registration document!
Car has undergone full 'nut and bolt' restoration approx. 7 years ago, completed by a trained automotive engineer. Rebuild included air suspension (LimeBug air ride kit) as was used as a 'Slammed Show Car', including period upgrades to a fully refurbished engine (included new barrel and pistons), Wolfsburg Okrace twin carb kit, and Porsche style wheels.
Body off bare metal respray in two-pack Sahara Beige.
All new window rubbers and frames.
Should you prefer, all these modifications are easily reversable as, intentionally, do not involve any permanent chassis or engine alterations.
The interior is fully period correct and was restored by a well known Custom Trimmer, includes new mohair head lining, red leatherette seats and VW box-weave carpets.
Huge document and receipt file.
Has been stored and unused for the last 5 years so needs some light recommissioning, recognised in asking price as rare examples such as this, sell at £30k.
