My car has developed a slight engine knock when cold. The engine light goes out immediately once started, and there is no loss of power. I’m not sure what the problem is, it’s not a loud knock but I’m not a mechanic so I can’t advise further. The car has cost me £15, 000 up to now, I’ve lowered the asking price since the car now has a problem……but it might not be much of one!
Beautifully restored 1961 VW Beetle finished in rare and iconic Beryl Green, retaining its classic charm with carefully chosen upgrades for reliability and drivability.
Originally a 6V car with a 1200cc engine, it’s now running a 1300cc engine with a 12-volt electrical system, making it much more usable day-to-day while staying true to its heritage. The car was restored by a local VW specialist about 7 years ago. I believe he put new floor pans and heater channels in both sides, but I can’t prove that as I have no receipts for the restoration work carried out. There are a few blemishes on the paint and chrome, but the car is still very nicely presented.
