The Ferrari 488 debuted in a special blue to highlight its distinctiveness from previous Ferrari models, particularly the open-top spiders. The color was chosen to emphasize the car's modern design while still paying homage to Ferrari's legacy.
The retractable hard top made of eleven different alluminium alloys combined with other elements, like magnesium for the best torsional and flexural rigidity just as the coupe has.
