Other important info – Car was always very well cared for by all its owners before me, hence why it is such excellent, original condition. Lots of bills/ receipts over its full life/ MOTs going back to 1994/ service book/ handbook etc. The car has never been restored or subject to welding/ bodywork or major paintwork repairs. In my ownership, I have continued the previous owners’ very good care and have tried to improve the car in certain areas. It gets noticed all the time because of its condition and indeed was the cover star of the May 2023 edition of Jaguar World magazine.
Some of the work I have carried out;
Refreshed remote central locking with new control unit and keyfobs
Brake overhaul inc new front and rear calipers, new pads, handbrake pads, and brake fluid flush
New stainless steel exhaust inc tips (Y section back)
Replaced alternator and aircon belts
Replaced both faulty electric window motors and gears
LED bulbs fitted to all external lights and internal (inc dash) bulbs. Resistors also fitted so bulb check system still operates.
Installed ‘new old stock’ rear screen & window seal with fully working rear window heater element
New headlining, runners and C post trim panels
Aircon service inc new filter drier and R134a refrigerant
New battery
Engine and gearbox filters & fluids changed, new air filter, new fuel filter, brake fluid flush and renew
Bodywork, glass and structure, extremely solid, no rust or corrosion present. Underside throughout and arches fully waxoyled and protected. Paintwork/ Exterior in excellent condition. Paint has been prepared, clay-barred and had a ceramic coating including recent top-up.
Interior in excellent original condition, original seat facings front and rear are in beautiful original condition with no damage/ leather wear and have a nice clean patination of use – driver’s bolster was recoloured and treated but not worn or damaged. Front bespoke front carpet mats and boot mat. Bespoke boot luggage ‘tidys’ fitted in boot side recesses.
Original Jaguar radio/ cassette serviced and refurbished and is in use almost every trip listening to my 80’s cassettes!
This is an exceptionally well cared for, maintained, improved, and looked after example of a great British classic GT.
It drives and handles as a XJ-S should especially with the Sports pack suspension – a really good balance of handling and comfortable ride. The car is a complete pleasure to drive around town or on long journeys, always catching the eye. Only selling as space needed for new projects. Viewing recommended to appreciate how nice this example is. I was looking for an Xj-S for a while and when this one came up, although it was a little over my budget it was in such fantastic original condition throughout and had obviously been very well looked after and cared for by all its owners, I couldn't not buy it. The bills and receipts bore that out as well as the condition of the car itself. As all the classic car buying advice goes, always buy the best possible original example you can find. It was a no-brainer and I've had the pleasure of great ownership of this car. I'll be sad to see it go.
