Description

Here for sale I have my Jaguar XJS V12 convertible, an extremely original car with only 3 former owners, one of which owned the car for nearly its entire life before it was sold by Parker Prestige only a couple of years ago, the owner previous to me had the car around 18 months and only covered 600 miles before I bought the car from him, both myself and the owner previous have garaged the car but I am inclined to believe it has been garaged its entire life and only used on rare occasions in good weather, hence the low mileage.

The car presents very well both internally and externally. I have won Trophies in car shows with this car when I attend which is attest to how good this car is, a notable example is when I won best in class amongst stiff competition at the Grampian Jaguar Enthusiasts Club! Although, On the bonnet there are some stone chips which are minor and barely visible. I haven’t attempted to correct these on the basis I am firm believer in keeping cars as original as possible, like they say, they are only original once! The rest of the bodywork is in very good condition throughout and is absolutely as straight as a die with all panels colour matching perfectly, the red paint shows no signs of fading which again points to it having been garaged its entire life. The interior shows very little signs of wear on the seats, carpets or steering wheel as seen in the photos. The car has had rubber mats in it as long as I am aware which have helped preserve the interior and have stopped the carpets getting damp. The cream colour really contrasts the red colour beautifully and is a brilliant place for a calm leisurely drive. The electric convertible fabric roof is black and is in superb condition with no marks or tears on it at all.

Having driven the car a couple thousand miles I can confirm it drives perfectly, the engine pulls strong and the torque is a really unmatched, anyone who has driven an engine this size will know how effortless it feels. The comfort in the car is second to none, Jaguars of this era are known to have had very well riding suspension and chassis, it holds the road well and is testament to the quality these cars were built to. It has been maintained well throughout its life with it receiving anything it has ever needed which can be shown from its history file. The car doesn’t even have a leak, rare for a Jag!

I lusted after owning an XJS for a long time after being refused insurance on one in my younger years so when the time came to be able to own one I searched to find the best example I could, this car is nothing short of that and I would be delighted to hear from any interested parties. Unfortunately for me, I have decided to sell the car to fund ongoing house renovations although I am not in any particular rush.
