First registered on 03/ 05/ 1989, it was purchased by its first owner and remained in his care for 2 years before being sold to it's second owner who kept it for 23 years. In 2014, it was acquired by a discerning collector in South Africa, where it was stored professionally until its return to the UK this summer. In total, just three custodians and two registered keepers have cared for the car in its lifetime.
Finished in Arctic Blue Metallic with a Silver and Red coachline and the original 15-inch lattice alloy wheels fitted with Toyo Z radial tyres, this XJS presents in truly outstanding condition throughout. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in Doeskin leather over Barley carpets with Elm veneers, offering a beautifully preserved period interior that exudes 1980s Jaguar luxury.
The condition throughout is extraordinary. The paintwork retains a deep, consistent gloss with no signs of fading or blemishes; the glass appears original and still bears its factory markings; the interior leather, wood, and switchgear remain in excellent order. The underside is equally impressive, showing only the lightest signs of age and having been treated with protective underseal for longevity.
Powered by a healthy 3. 6 liter straight six AJ6 mated to a smooth 4 speed ZF automatic gearbox. I have always loved the AJ6 engine in an XJS, it offers plenty of performance with a welcome improvement to the fuel economy of the V12's and the lighter front end gives a sportier drive.
Documentation is extensive and includes historic bills of sale, Jaguar handbooks and service booklet (showing dealer registration details), historic and current V5 logbooks and spare keys.
While the maintenance record isn't exhaustive, there are a early service stamps in the service booklet, invoices from its time in South Africa which, combined with the car's outstanding cosmetic and mechanical condition, clearly demonstrate the care and attention it has received throughout its life.
