Description
A really nice example of a 1958 Beetle. I brought this back from South Africa, so no salt on roads, it came from a deceased estate, and I was told it was the same owner from new, but cannot verify this. I cleaned it off underneath, and apart from where the battery had been, it scraped off to bright silver as you can see. The battery area was professionally repaired, and the underneath redone with stonechip. Underneath is rock solid ! I changed the oil, fitted a carb kit, and gave her a good clean and polish, and she really has cleaned up nice.
Still has original sun visors and mirror dip
I would say it has had paintwork, but a long time ago.
It runs really sweet and starts up on the button.
I have also fitted new trafficators which have flashing LEDs. Car is still on 6 volts system. These are now quite visible and makes it not necessary to fit additional, non standard flashers on the car. Interior is lovely, has an original radio fitted, which does work. Original jack is there and still has the handbook. It drives really nice (for a 50s car) but you will know all about them if you are looking for one.
I have too many classic cars, including another beetle cabriolet, so looking to let someone else enjoy this one. I have current V5 in my name.
Car is located near Stanhope in Co Durham for viewing or collections.
I do work abroad for most of the time, so ideally would like it sold in the next week or so.
I am not a Beetle expert so may not be able to answer all your questions, best way is to come and have a look yourself, kettle is always on. Its about as original as you will get, got a lot of charm. Deserves to be loved and used.
You will struggle to find a nicer original example.
