bmw e28 518i lux 1987
back In 2013 the previous owner had a m535i in the local garage for a routine mot and shortly after got a phone call saying the m535i had been in an accident after a test drive by there young mechanic!! sadly that car was no longer any good so an original untouched 518 lux e28 was purchased for full m535i conversion in 2013.
Astbury motorworks in Devon carried out the full conversion and documented the process and has looked after and serviced the car up unitl I purchased it

the car is an a amazing example completely rust free and looks to have all original paint. it's never been welded and was waxed oiled from new every seam and joint is still factory.
all body panels line up correctly, sun roof is in excellent condition along with all of the chrome bumpers and trims
the interior is in excellent condition all the seat's are perfect along with the carpet & head linning. being the lux model it had the trip computer, front electric windows, electric mirrors, front fogs, binical light dimmer, full centre console & rear blinds.
I drove the car home 300 miles without any issues soon after it had a full engine service fresh 10w60 oil & spark plugs. diff oil topped up with 75w140
I found the suspension was soft so I replaced the bilsteins with bc coilovers to get the stance I wanted and now handles 100% better. the car drives extremely well and has more than enough power to show up modern car's
the paint works is in great condition but would definitely benefit from a machine polish somthing it's never had and two or three small storage dents that can be easier pushed out by a professional.
the e28 is a fantastic original rust free example and rare to come across
