Jaguar E-Type V12 Series III Coupé (2+2) Auto
Welcome to the sale of my Jaguar E-Type which is UK registered and RHD
Selling due to Ill health and no time to enjoy her anymore, I have had the car since September 2017 and was part of a small private collection which I now have to sell. I have done very few miles since then. Just out to a handful of local classic car meets and shows.
The car is a Historic registered vehicle so if you choose too as I did there is no MOT or road Tax required just your insurance..
The car was originally built for the export market and went to the British Leyland dealer in New York dispatched 25th January 1971. Build year assumed 1970. Vehicle Information Sheet from Jaguar Heritage to confirm.
The next documented part of the History is the car being exported to Italy in 1990 with copy of original documents to confirm. An Italian classic car company had purchased it.
The car was then sent by them to the UK in 1991 for a full restoration and RHD conversion. This was done by the well renowned Jaguar specialist XK Engineering. All the bills and work carried out are documented which amount to £34799. 05 which in 1991 is a Kings ransom. There are also a number of photos showing the process of strip down to rebuild. They show a full body off restoration with all the suspension and brakes overhauled or replaced. Full engine and differential rebuild looking at invoices and all the ancillary items and parts replaced.
It is not clear what happened with the first UK owner but the car was UK registered on 01/ 12/ 1995 and then sold 12 months later to its second UK owner Stewart Robertson of Marketing Advantage Ltd. ( Have old V5 to verify and sales documents to next owner).
Ian Brisey the third UK owner and the guy I bought the car from acquired the car from Stewart on 17/ 12/ 1996. Owning the car for 21 years he had a no expenses spared approach to the maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle. All the work he had done is fully documented via a host of invoices totalling many thousands of pounds. Included is a bill for changing the carburetas to a limited edition SU, the company celebrating its 100 year, the dash pots are engraved and a certificate is supplied with the car. He also made a few modern upgrades to include fully adjustable coil over suspension so ride height and comfort can be adjusted to suit your requirements rear privacy glass. There is also two modern reupholstered leather Recaro sports seats that can go with the car if you prefer but the originals are in and fitted.
The car today has only covered 3524 miles since the full rebuild which is a shame as it needs to be out being appreciated for the excellent example that it is. It has been kept during my ownership in a heated barn under a cover and well maintained .
Whilst I appreciate there are a lot of E-Types for sale at the moment, I feel the condition and History of this one is not the run of the mill car that looks good on the outside but risks the horrors what may lurk beneath.
