Jaguar XJR 4. 2 Supercharged. Racing green. Rare Black/ Cherry leather interior. 20" Sepang alloys with recent premium tyres fitted, plus all of the usual Xjr refinements. Mot January 2026.
Full Jaguar service history up until 200, 000 miles, when I acquired the vehicle. Since then I've serviced it myself, with oil changes every 5000 miles, and I've tried to keep receipts for all items, to add to the extensive history file. It is ulez compliant, and is in the cheaper tax bracket to identical models from later years. 2 keys still present as are the alloy spacesaver spare and tools.
On top of all the general service items, in my 5 years of ownership.-
Gearbox serviced by North Wales Jag.
New auxiliary belt and tensioners.
New supercharger belt and tensioners.
Quaiffe Limited slip diff fitted (supplied by Tom Lenthal Jaguar), along with bearings, seals and oil, at a cost of well over £1000 - This absolutely transforms the car, if you've driven one you'll know how infuriating the traction control is on a damp road killing the power, which kind of defeats the point of an XJR. The LSD eliminates that so it still takes off like a scolded cat even in slippery conditions.
New gearbox mount.
New radiator.
Stainless steel fuel tank straps.
Fuel rail pressure sensor.
Lambda sensor.
BC racing coilover struts fitted. (controversial in the Jag world but they genuinely ride better that the air struts that were removed, albeit they had done over 200, 000miles and were likely past their best.) Air struts can easily be retro fitted as all of the rest of the system is still in place.
Bad points.
Headlining is begining to sag slightly, and has been removed from the sunroof panel, although you dont notice from the drivers seat!
Parking sensors work intermitantly.
Paint on the wheels is flaking in places.
Air-conditioning needs a re-gass since the radiator change.
Bodywork has a few age related chips and small localised aluminium bubbling in places which is common on these, but only really noticeable when washing it. I get compliments on the car nearly every time i park it, so it is far from tatty, but I know it's there.
Air suspension fault shows on dash due to coilovers. Override modules are available but its not an mot fail, so i've neve bothered.
Lambda sensor heater fault, I've ordered one and will fit it if I get chance. Doesn't affect the fueling or emissions as its just the heater element, not the measuring circuit. Code P0037.
Just today the handbrake gave in, code C1802. Looks like the cables snapped and retracted up it's own a* se. See the last picture.
Exhaust is rattling from the inside, as if the silencer or cat is breaking down.
None of the above have ever bothered me, but could all be rectified easily with a little time and not alot of money.
In summary this is an honest, reliable car, which drives superb, and has been well looked after for the 22 years of its life. It's never let me down, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it to the south of Italy tomorrow.
Viewings welcome if they can be worked around my shifts. I don't mind jacking it up for inspection if wanted. Located nr Wrexham.
The car is advertised elsewhere.
Happy bidding on the well known auction site.
ChrisPurchased about 5 years ago, indirectly from dkengineering. They were tasked with selling someone's car collection by the estate he left behind. Obviously this didn't quite fit into the caliber of cars they deal with, but they took it anyway, and that's how I ended up with, quite possibly the only 200, 000mile x350 with full Jag service history on the internet at the time. The costs are an eye watering read! Less so since I've had it, I've always maintained my cars myself. Although it does need abit of love now, nothing important mechanically has ever been left and quality parts have been used by reputable outlets.
All known faults are listed and easily fixed out in a weekend, with parts easily still sourced on this age jag.
