Beautiful Corolla 1200 in original condition with 69, 944 km from the second owner. Complete with the booklets, all keys and the original warranty card. Even equipped with a Vermeulen-Hollandia sunroof. This warranty card is also still present. Purchased new from the former Amersfoort garage in Laren. The service booklet has been neatly filled in and in 1975 the Toyota was transferred to a family member, also from Laren. This owner had a collection of classic cars that were stored in a heated room. This Toyota was then coated with Tectyl and remained in the collection for 49 years. It was used very sporadically, so the Corolla has not seen rain or salt all these years!
This highly original Corolla KE-20 is more than just a barn find. Thanks to the heated storage, it is in remarkably good condition. The body looks great and is still largely in its original paint. Of course, it has some patina, but that is to be expected after 53 years. Everything is original: the bumpers, the rims with chrome hubcaps, all the locks, stickers and the lockable fuel cap. The steel sunroof works perfectly and is rust-free. I am a fan of sunroofs because they provide extra air and light, and you can use them a lot because you drive slowly in a classic car anyway. The interior is completely original and typical of the Japanese 1970s: simple and functional. The dashboard is intact and everything works; it really is a beautiful time capsule. The original leatherette upholstery is slightly damaged on the left, but the rest of the upholstery is well preserved. The seats have adjustable backrests, fixed headrests and original lap belts.
The car was recently brought out of hibernation by two experienced Toyota mechanics and thoroughly serviced. The Corolla was checked as if it were undergoing an MOT and all technical aspects were inspected. The mechanics were pleasantly surprised by its condition, both technically and cosmetically. This car has been very well preserved. They did open up the engine and replace the pistons and gaskets. The extremely reliable 4-cylinder engine runs like new again; quiet and lively. The gearbox, differential and clutch are original and also quiet. It couldn't be otherwise with this mileage.
