Triumph TR4a in need of recommissioning. I bought it last year with the intention of improving and using it. It’s now for sale as I have bought a 1 owner TR4 that I could not resist otherwise I would be keeping it. It has a body off restoration in the 90s. It’s very solid. I can’t find any rust. Panel gap and paintwork is in good condition. Runs and drives. I have only driven it a couple of miles at a time as the brakes need going through and it leaks a bit of water and oil. I started rebuilding the handbrake. Replaced the ratchet etc but not got any further. It has the hard top and soft top frame.
Interior has Mazda seats which are very comfortable. the carpets are home made so would benefit from being replaced.
Wheels and tyres were new just before I bought the car.
It’s got an overdrive box which seams to work. A bit stiff to get into first sometimes. One wiper arm needs repair.
It has photos of the body off restoration, some old mot certificates, some receipts, original buff log book. I am the 8th owner. Date of registration is 01/ 08/ 1965. The last time it went for a mot and passed was 2012.
I have bought new number plates and replacement badges as it has been de badged at some point.
It will need trailing as the brakes are not great and the fluid leaks.
