Description
This is my 1977 Series III 109. It was built on the 22 April 1977 and despatched to the Central Army Vehicle Depot, Ashcroft on the 29 April 1977, it served as an FFR vehicle.
The Land Rover is in a great useable condition, the paintwork is typical of a series vehicle having numerous coats of paint over the years which in my opinion adds to the charm of these vehicles.
Over the last few months I have carried out the following work.
New SenorBarbo Thermoblock Marine Hood. In my opinion the best hood you can buy.
New rear three person bench seats with six lap belts
New commercial rear rubber floor
Front seat belt bar with three point inertia seat belts.
New front centre seat
New pedal rubbers and heavy duty floor mats
New H4 headlight conversion
New master cylinder and vacuum booster
New wheel cylinders all round
New brake shoes
New flexi pipes and most hard lines replaced
New electronic distributor and ignition
New powerspark coil
New genuine Weber carb
New water pump
New heater valve
Electric fuel pump
New fuel sender unit, although it only works when it feels like it !!!
Currently fitted with Defender wheels and as new tyres, I do have the original wheels again with as new tyres.
All fluids have been changed, coolant, engine oil, transmission oil, diff oil, swivels, brake fluid.
The Land Rover drives great, Hi and Low select as they should and it drives in 2wd and 4wd as it should. Also has Free Wheel hubs fitted and these work correctly.
Chassis is 100 percent solid, never been repaired, the underside has had a full Lanoguard treatment.
I also have a single cab hard top which I can include in the sale.
This is a nice honest series III that needs nothing.
Any inspection welcome.
