Vehicle History Notes: Previously restored in the ~2008, minor paint blemishes consistent with age. Try to keep the original fittings throughout.

Highlights:

Original 803 engine

Retains charming period interior with original seats and dash

Runs and drives well — ideal for classic shows, club events, or weekend drives. Slight oil leak (as with many cars this age).

This Austin A30 is a wonderful slice of post-war motoring history, offering simplicity, style, and character. Viewing welcome. If you’re looking for a classic that turns heads, sparks conversation, and makes every journey feel special, this Austin A30 is it. Its compact, cheerful design and unmistakable 1950s charm always draw smiles, whether at a local car show or just popping to the shops.

I bought it because I wanted a piece of genuine British motoring history that was easy to live with, affordable to run, and full of character. Unlike many classics, it’s small enough to park anywhere, light to handle, and has that endearing “time capsule” feel every time you get behind the wheel.

What makes it unique is its originality, from the period interior details to the smell of the car that tells its story. It’s not over-restored or modernised beyond recognition; it’s a car that wears its history with pride.

My favourite thing? The way people react when they see it, waves, smiles, and “I learned to drive in one of those!” from passers-by. It’s not just a car, it’s a conversation starter and a piece of nostalgia you can enjoy on the road.
