Description

Where to start with this car. Well back in 2010 I imported it from France, it had already been converted to diesel and drove well. I had it for a few years and it did a little bit of film work until I sold it to a private collection in Wales. It was then sold as part of the whole collection to Jaguar Land Rover. They kept it for some time then it was sold on and eventually came back up for sale after the clutch had failed. At this point it was looking a little sorry for itself and the previous owner was struggling to find parts for it. I couldn't leave it like that so bought it back. I own a house in France so have a spares car over there that supplied it's gearbox and clutch which has got the old girl back up and running. The diesel engine is a 2 litre from a Peugeot 404 I seem to remember and it starts instantly and although rather agricultural it doesn't smoke and pulls well. I have only just finished fitting the gearbox and found that there was a bush missing from the column gearchange. I have now replaced this and it now has all 4 forward gears. The replacement gearbox isn't the best but it comes with the original which had been overhauled. I have had a quick look over the brakes and all seems ok and they are working well after a bit of adjustment. It does have a little rust in the front end of the sills and jacking points. These aren't structural though and haven't really got much worse from when I first owned it 15 years ago. It will also come with the spares car but it would need collecting from France. I will bring the bonnet back next time I go as the one on the car has always been a poor fit. I have also got an original petrol engine for it which is seized but complete if you wanted to convert it back to petrol, I have lots of fond memories with this car and really want to find it a good home where it will be looked after. If I had more storage in the UK I would keep it but at the moment it is sitting outside.
