Description
Harley-Davidson XLH 1000, 1973 model.
Matching-numbers frame and engine.
Custom transformation with a rigid rear end, the bike having won numerous awards in Italy and abroad at many dedicated shows (Eternal City Motorcycle Show, IT - European Bike Week AT and others), and it has also earned an article in a trade magazine.
Restored from the ground up, engine fully rebuilt with very few miles, in perfect working condition. Reinstated ignition with a kick-start using the original HD kit.
The bike was built and assembled with precious period-correct components, many of which are also new old stock, such as the H-D oil tank, or the front cone drum brake of BSA/ Triumph origin. I also have all the original parts of the bike, including an original Mikuni carburettor.
Price negotiable after viewing and test ride. Crafted with masterful skill by the Roman workshop G-Garage, this rigid-era reinterpretation of a Harley-Davidson XLH nods to its XLCH counterpart with some original H-D components applied. Numerous details make it unique in its class; during the transformation only components contemporaneous with the bike were used, such as the front cone drum dual-cam derived from BSA/ Triumph, or the Sev Marchal depth-beam headlamp.
The awards received and, above all, the recognition at European Bike Week in Austria make it a special motorcycle for enthusiasts of the genre.
