The ** HD Sportster 883XL** that ** Garage** offers is a 2008 example, kept in a maniacal way, it has covered only 22500 kilometres. The engine and mechanical parts are like new also thanks to the care received from the previous owner… she just needs to be started and to devour many more kilometres of tarmac…

We’re talking about one of the most enduring models a manufacturer has ever created, the much celebrated Sportster, but in friendly terms she likes to be called Sporty!. This legendary motorbike was born back in 1957 and has retained over time, besides the name, also the basic technology and the recognisable aesthetics despite its almost 70 years of history. Nevertheless, the technical updates are not few. The engine, in addition to being offered in two displacements, was redesigned in 1986, moving from the now obsolete but still loved “Iron Head” to the more efficient Evolution engine. The changes are all in favour of ride comfort and reliability. The engine is made lighter by using aluminium at the expense of heavier cast iron, tuning and lubrication are improved, the transmission is entrusted to a Kevlar toothed belt (1992) and moving from 4 to 5 gears also enables a notable improvement in fuel economy. Also cooling, the torque curve and the weight improve considerably and in 2004 the frame was updated introducing the “Silent Block” to further dampen the vibrations typical of Harley engines. 2007 arrives, the carburettors are definitively abandoned for the more efficient and reliable injectors, mandatory to meet anti-pollution targets. A somewhat unpopular choice, as the more nostalgic reveal their criticisms. The Sporty isn’t just any motorcycle, it’s a philosophy. Whoever rides a Sporty thinks Sporty. It accompanies you anywhere, it doesn’t seek to race, but aims to make your journey unforgettable.
