Description
1967 Mk1 GT6 UK market
91000 miles
5 prev owners
Manual Overdrive (overdrive needs a new solenoid I will supply a new one)
Matching numbers
Heritage certificate showing still in original spec/ colour/ wheels
VERY solid car, no rot, no welding required.
Only selling due to having a toddler and another baby due imminently, I have no time to play with it and funds are needed elsewhere.
Previous owner owned since the 1980s and had it 40 years. TSSC classed it as A1+ condition in the late 90s, when it was the parked up in the owners garage from 2000 to 2022 and covered in thick wax.
I bought it from the deceased estate as it stood and spent time recommissioning.
Was a known car in the TSCC at the time apparently winning some awards according to the son of the owner.
I have re commissioned the car, which needed very little to be honest, but from memory, it has had:
Rebuilt carbs by Andrew Turner
New Tyres and the wheels were balanced and checked by Turrino wheels
New brakes
Full service
New plugs, leads, dizzy, rotor arm and AccuSpark ignition.
Re timed
Valve clearances set
Fuel pump rebuilt
Fuel tank removed, cleaned, refit.
Trunnions oiled
Phoenix single bore exhaust (the only modification from standard)
Stainless standard downpipe
All new coolant hoses
Cooling system flushed
Refurbed inlet manifold from Andrew Turner
New heater valve
New Thermostat
Exterior and Interior all complete and in fantastic condition. The only area that lets it down (aside from the overdrive solenoid) is the paint, while pretty good, has some areas of chips or scrapes - not concours but better than many. The worst part being a stone chip on the bonnet that is badly touched up and around the front grill. I have left it as is, as I quite like the original patina, but understand many like concours paint.
Underside is painted body colour - no underseal or wax so can be seen for what it is. Never seen a wet road in my ownership.
Drives very well, release bearing a little noisy, but all gears engage well, plenty of power, certainly the most spritely Gt6 I have ever driven.
