Description
1978 Dodge Aspen sedan for sale. Not a particularly common car in the UK, originally imported in the early 80s as a US army staff car from West Berlin. Plenty of good and bad points to go with:
The good:
Drivetrain is solid, the transmission rebuilt in 2014 and has done few miles since then. No issues regarding running gear.
Wolfrace slot mags and relatively new cooper cobra tires (2022).
Tax, MOT and ULEZ exempt as registered historic vehicle.
The bad:
Rust. Passenger door sill has been welded but the driver side needs attention. The gaping hole in the pictures illustrates it best. Bodywork is far from perfect, originally the car featured a vinyl roof and plastic trims which have since been removed as they were holding water and causing the metal underneath to rust.
Floorpans are going to need work as well.
Suspension bushings could do with replacing.
I have not driven this car in two years hence the sale. As such it will need a new battery to get it running. While it is possible to drive away I would not recommend this to the faint of heart. Do not misunderstand, this is a project through and through. The main points I have stated above, welding, bushings, battery and some paint will render this car in respectable condition, not showroom, but respectable.
Would make for a fantastic light project or rally entry with a little recommissioning or as a donor car if the prospect of bodywork is unappealing.
With the description and pictures I have tried to be as honest as possible, if you have any interest or further questions please feel free to get in touch, I’ll be happy to answer or talk cars.
All the obvious V5 in my name etc. located in North London.
