Renault Clio Williams 2ltr log booked Rally Car.
Change of plans means I’m reluctantly putting this great little car up for sale.
I bought this car last year to convert into a replica of a F2 Maxi kitcar, like Jean Ragnotti’s amazing silver Diac cars. (Search on YouTube Jean Ragnotti tribute) and use on historic rally car demo events and shows in the UK and Europe.
I contacted ‘Rallying History’ UK about the car and they have said how rare the mk. 1 Clio is in British rallying and would welcome the car into their historic rally car club, especially if it was a homage to a Grp. A or F2 Maxi kitcar ex-works car like the silver Diac works cars. (see photos)
The car was going to be a F2 maxi kitcar project for me and my two young boys, but unfortunately they’re not interested. So I’ve decided to put it up for sale.
As the car is a complete new passported rally car, fitting a F2 maxi body kit (£970 Inc. p&p), respray (£varies) and Diac livery (£260) would transform this car into a very good replica. Hopefully, someone will buy it, and continue to turn it into a F2 Maxi kitcar. If not you could just update all the safety equipment and put everything in date and rally the car, as it is already logbooked with a new MSA passport.
A lot of money, hard work and time has been spent on this car by the previous owner a prominent figure in clubman rallying and the car was a regular on events like the Manx etc.
With ex-works Clio F2 Maxi kitcars selling for in excess of £200, 000+ and even exact Matter replicas selling for almost similar figures, this car could be a future investment if done nicely?
As an example the current price for Matter to build a FIA historic F2 Clio maxi bare shell ex-works spec with rollcage and certificate is €24, 000 approx and if you wanted Custom cages to just make and fit a replica FIA ex-works cage to your mk. 1 Clio it would cost £5250+vat. Compare that to under £20k for this car.
