Thanks for looking at our stunning 1968 Ford Mustang GT Bullitt evocation, originally built out of the San Jose Ford plant in California and registered in USA in 1968 with the correct chassis number for a GT this car now has fitted after a long restoration a 428ci Cobra jet engine with a 5 speed close ratio manual gearbox, power steering and power disc front brakes makes this car incredible to drive, In 1968 production-car drag racing was popular and was good for business. The muscle car era was in full swing and big horsepower was king. The goal was simple, have the lightest car with the biggest and most powerful engine. Manufacturers created special packages you could buy off the lot, all designed to beat the competition. The old adage that “weekend wins at the strip translated to weekday sales in the showroom” was not lost on Ford. In 1968, the original FE 428-cubic-inch V8-powered Cobra Jet was created for this purpose. Ford went ahead and produced 50 lightweight Mustangs to hold the 335-horsepower engine but in real liufe they produced over 400HP in the late 60s, today this is still a quick car.
Painted in Highland green with black leather and black carpets with over mats all in lovely condition, very good body gaps, no bondo cracks like many US restored cars, this really looks great in the flesh, car has been owned by a true enthusiast and has not spared a penny on the car and its been used by its former owner regularly, and regularly serviced, now for sale onto the classic market, you will struggle to find a nice and in better condition car today on the market
