Land Rover Series 3 SWB Hardtop Ex HM Coastguard
Petrol 4 cylinder. 1983. Late model example of the series 3.
The vehicle is finished in HM Coastguard Blue and Yellow from the factory and was supplied new to HM Coastguard.
It has a nice specification with a hardtop and side windows, tailgate and top flap, Fairey capstan winch and Superwinch free wheel hubs. It also has been fitted with Parabolic leaf springs which make the ride far more comfortable, together with a Weber carburettor, electronic ignition and leather front axle swivel housing gaiters. The spotlights on the roof and front bumper were fitted when supplied to HM Coastguard.
It is fitted with x4 ‘1-Ton’ model wheel rims, which have a deeper offset. The spare wheel is a standard LWB rim (which is not shown in the photographs). The panels are very straight. The driver’s side front wing skin has been resprayed and is a slightly darker colour. It has just passed an MOT and been fitted with new rear shock absorbers.
The chassis has received repairs and outriggers in the past and is coated in oil to protect it. Mileage shows 66, 027. It drives well and feels tight to drive.
