Welcome to the sale of my 850R Manual Estate in the best colour combination of red exterior with the dark grey interior. There are only 68 R's on the road in total, and that includes automatics and saloons, so this is one of very few.
I've owned the car for about 7 years and done about 6, 000-ish miles. The previous owner was a complete Volvo nut, and several of the owners before him were also members of VPCUK. All the work I've done to the car has been kept in a spreadsheet showing when the work took place, what the parts were, where they were from etc.
It's also got a comprehensive service history with huge stacks of old receipts showing the car has had plenty of money spent on it over the years by previous owners & myself.
A previous owner replaced the gearbox with an M56 low ratio box, so its gets through the gears pretty rapidly, but the box is also showing signs of wear & tear. It is perfectly driveable - I've used it for my entire ownership - but a new box wouldn't be a bad idea as 3rd gear tends to crunch a bit at higher temps/ RPMs.
Recent work includes a full service including cam and aux belts, new brake discs and pads all round (inc the 302 big brake upgrade), new handbrake cable and more. It's also had a stage zero tune & the PCV was done less than 10k miles ago. It also has braided brake lines all round and a stainless steel cat-back exhaust.
All work in my ownership has been carried out by independent Volvo specialists, or myself for the simpler stuff like oil changes - which I tend to do annually regardless of mileage.
Cosmetically the car looks presentable, particularly inside, but on closer inspection you will see signs of 25 years of road use. The boot and rear left quarter have been resprayed to look acceptable but would benefit from a professional job.
The interior is very good and everything works... except the A/ C. It's never worked in my ownership and I've never tried getting it to work, simply because I've never used the car enough for it to bother me. Heaters are great, cruise control is great, and I've had a single-din stereo professionally installed too which works with Bluetooth for music and phone calls.
Alarm also works, central locking is fine & comes with 2 keys and one fob.
The car comes with 12 months MOT and is HPI clear.
