Inspired by American station wagons and a company recently nationalised and seeking to produce an upmarket functional vehicle in the 1950s Renault produced the Colorale.
Available in a number of body options this Prairie model is perhaps the only in the UK and they are one of the rarest post nationalisation Renault’s world wide.
The car with its large side valve engine was not a commercial success and they were not long in production.
Imported by myself last year this curio continues to languish in my workshop unlikely to progress in the next year so time for someone else to own it.
The car is fully UK registered with V5 present.
It is LHD
The engine is free, the car rolls and a new set of all terrain tyres were fitted to aid the aesthetic.
Ripe for an engine swap or even further this will make for a beyond unique project.
