Honestly didn’t think I would ever do this.
When I found this Bus, it was the find of a lifetime. It still is, and I’m sure it always will be.
It’s a RHD, UK Bus that has NEVER been welded. A rarity in itself. Add to that, I’m only the fourth owner and it has 45, 000 original miles from new and you’re unlikely to find anything else like it in the UK.
It still has all the original Devon interior. We had the seats trimmed by Sam at Aircooled Upholstery and new curtains made but everything else is as it was in 1961, right down to the original stove top, the cool box and the crockery and cutlery set (albeit with one or two bits now missing.)
It’s still running 6v and the original 1200cc motor with ever-so-slightly larger 1300 barrels done in 1991 when the body was painted in the original Blau-Weiss over Turkis. Photos of the work are included with the Bus.
Come and test it. Please look at others before you come. This is as close as you can get to driving a Splitty in 1961. The steering doesn’t even wander!
