Volvo 122S, 1965 4door 1998 cc with 4 speed gearbox and overdrive
Starting from the ground and working up. The car has Pirelli P600 tyres which are 90% good and 5 years old, they are on a set of Minilite wheels. The suspension has Bilstein dampers all round and original spec coil springs There is a 2” stainless stell exhaust.
The Engine is a Volvo B20 rebuilt about 5 years ago by Rob Henchoz of Amazon Cars, it has an uprated Cam, Lightened followers and a steel Timing wheel. The exhaust has a 4 branch manifold and the Carburettors were rebuilt by Burlen whilst Rob was rebuilding the engine. It has a 123 electronic ignition
There is a fitted rev counter. The car has a pair of genuine Cibie Oscars and a digital Radio/ music system.
The body and chassis are in great condition.
Inside the car has been insulated with dynamat throughout and has a set of fully fitted carpets. The front leather seats are out of a Saab 900. The car has always been MOT'd and has a new MOT to October 2026This car looks and sounds great and drives as good as it looks. It gets real attention everywhere. Owned by me for over 12 years and already in good condition when I bought it but has been maintained and improved by us.
The car is firm but not hard on the road and handles like a dream.
The fast road engine will rev to 6000rpm if you want to but can also be a comfortable cruiser when required, and happy to sit at 80mph on the motorway. The overdrive makes a lot of difference in these cars.
We have been to Le Mans Classic at least 3 times, Angouleme twice, Pau once and around France and UK many times. The car could do it again now without any doubt. We have owned Amazons for nearly 40 years. This is the best one I have ever owned and driven.
Only selling because the wife has just bought herself a BMW 2002 and I have an air cooled Porsche 911 on my bucket list and they are a tad expensive.
