Description
Showroom condition low mileage classic vw Bay westfalia camper, the only Vw approved camper at the time.
Originally imported from Arizona, so spent its life in dry climate, personally imported by myself. I picked this one as it was the lowest mileage most original example I could find before work commenced. I picked the 1972 model as it is called the crossover model. It has the earlier front looks, but the larger servo assisted brakes as well as the larger rear lights, easier to see and follow.
It has had a full restoration. Blasted painted and treated underneath, and sanded back to bare metal above and resprayed in its original colour L90d Pastel White
This van retains all its original metal and shows no evidence of having repairs or weld, other than the very common battery tray replacement
Speedometer shows 28000 miles, ( unverified) and it's original unwelded body and interior reflect this
It has:
Brand new wiring loom and fully rewired
Hidden 240v hook up placed within the 110v outlets to keep factory look and split charge additional leisure battery system installed.
Brand new brakes and suspension, including shocks all round, new calipers disks pads servo master all rear brake internals cables etc.
Brand new engine and gearbox
New seat coverings and cushions
All new seals and side opening windows, operate and look beautifully.
Original timewarp camper interior all to original 1972 westfalia specifications
All new pop top roof parts with show quality polished stainless brackets and hardware.
Every nut and bolt on van has either been stripped and replated and reused or replaced with stainless steel versions

I'm the vans only owner since it came to the UK approx 7 years ago. It has a Brand new mot * although mot and tax exempt * for peace of mind. This van was rescued from a long stay for decades in the Arizona desert. It was bought from the owner from a craigslist ad as it was so amazingly original. It retains it's factory fresh look, yet completely restored to the very highest quality. When building it as many of the original finishes and materials were matched and reused. This is as close as you could get to what you would find in a VW showroom in 1972. Even the rear camper interior has original pattern and colour curtains and even the floor vinyl. It has a classic period radio installed, but has been updated to have modern Bluetooth and digital radio internals.
Underneath is better than showroom and is often displayed at shows with mirrors underneath to the surprise of onlookers.
This van has over 60k invested in it with a folder of receipts and paperwork
It has less than 100 miles on it from finishing, our passion was in the build and restoration and now it's time for our next project.
Viewing welcomed. I will help any buyer, including international buyers and will assist in helping with delivery etc.
