1978…Tax, MOT and ULEZ exempt. 1580 miles on New engine.
Serviced and maintained by Kingfisher Kustoms VW specialists with no expense spared. This was a fully original T2 Moonraker and after using it once we decided to fully refurbish it, but wanted the more modern comforts and freshness. It was taken back to an empty shell with windows out. New full size double bed. It also has a double bed in the roof space that can be either split or removed when not needed. The intention was to keep the bus and pass it down to the children, so no expense has been spared and it needed to be a good, reliable, safe and useable classic.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have very sadly decided to part with it.
There has been far too much work done to list but here are some of the main things:-
Sent to "Auto Tech" in Birmingham to have all rust cut out and new metal fitted... Inner/ outer arches, door skins/ under door sills, tail gate skin, rear arches, side panel, sliding door track covers, etc. All new window and door rubbers including cab door window kits
(All genuine parts where possible) Pop top was removed and refurbished completely with sound proofing, lining, canvas, hinges, etc.
Full interior sound proofing/ insulation. Completely new diamond stitch two tone upholstery. Deluxe cab carpets, New interior spotlights with remote.
New full size "Rock-n-Roll" bed. Teak dining table with external stand high and low. When the Pop Top is raised, the sliding double bed can be split during the day so that you can still stand and walk around. Great head room which makes such a difference. New sound system with reversing camera (camera still in box and not yet installed). Interior fully lined. New kitchen with Hob/ sink (never used yet). Roof cupboard. Cab shelf fitted. New door handles, locks. All new electrics USB sockets, Mains hook up, 12v system . New batteries for engine and leisure.
New hot air heater and ducting with remote. Full respray. New brakes all round... disks/ drums. Sports exhaust. Side step. Awning rail.
4 x Brand new correct tyres (£720).
The engine has just been completely refurbished (02. 05. 25) and rebuilt by Kingfisher Kustoms with new heads, pistons, sleeves, con rod bearings, push rod tubes, flywheel oil seal, etc, etc. at a cost of £3, 000. 00 I have just finished running it in for 500 miles with a few day trips to North Wales. It runs perfect and is a pleasure to drive. You will see on the video it was run up on their jig before fitting and runs lovely.
I also have lots and lots of new equipment such as inflatable awning, grills, tables, canopy, chairs, wind break, bike rack, etc, etc. most of which has been used once or never. This can be negotiated or I will list separately.
