1993 Suzuki Cara. (AutoZam AZ-1 nella rara versione Suzuki).
I have had the car for a year now, the previous Guernsey owner imported it from the UK in early 2024. Making it so much easier for you to buy than having to import a car direct from Japan, Guernsey is just a short boat ride away, and int having already been UK registered once before its already been on their system.
As with most of these Japanese gems it starts on the key, everything seems to work, the gears and clutch feel good, the windscreen screen has no chips or cracks (which is important on these cars), the paintwork polishes up ok, the interior looks to be original with usual age related marks here and there, mechanically it will need discs and pads doing all round as the ones on it are in need of replacements and a rear wheel bearing on one side is grumbling too, the previous owner had one wheel bearing done and there are some new brake pads and wheel bearing in a box of bits in the car, as I mentioned above you will have to source a set of discs/ rotors before doing that job, something I never got round to doing.. however I have fitted a brand new set of tyres on it.
As you'll see, there are some very expensive Autozam AZ-1's out there, so this is your chance to get one at an entry level price. It has to be one of the most fun and sought after Kei cars. It's an amazing design, a very clever design too as its deceptively full of beans for such a little thing... And the size inside the car is quite amazing, it's a comfortable micro car.
It has the benefit of being the rarer Suzuki version too with the spoiler and fog lamp front end.
Paperwork, it has an original Owners Manual, some Japanese Service paperwork that look like Japanese road worthy test sheets maybe, there is the original paperwork when it was imported to the UK, and also The Bill of Sale for when the previous owner bought it from the importer. And the Guernsey Logbook.
All I can say is if you have never driven one, you need to. I've never laughed so much it's a scream. 657cc's of pure Twin Overhead Cam Turbocharged fun... like a road going go kart with the looks of a supercar.

Guernsey is easily accessible by boat or plane. Aurigny(plane) Brittany(ferry).
NB: It is now Guernsey Registered, but was first imported to the UK, so importing back to the UK should be simple, and with it being over 30 years old it should be at the reduced VAT rate of 5%. I have to say do check before purchase though with an import agent (Try Penguin Shipping, who I used on another car and the do make doing NOVA's a breeze at a very sensible price too).
