Selling my striking Grey and Purple XV500. I bought it as a crash damaged non-runner and have got it running and most of the damage repaired bar a dented tank and bent foot peg. Bottom end bearing is a bit noisy. Rough around the edges but not beyond restoration or customisation.
Registered classic/ history vehicle that will run for another 40 years with some gentle maintenance.
Canadian import bike, recent MOT (although not required as registered historic), 72k KMs which is roughly 55k miles.
Open to close offers but the bike is listed at a loss as is between purchase and garage work, if no sensible interest then I'll keep it, keep riding it and keep enjoying it for as long as it keeps running.
The XV500 is a respectable little bike with some proper retro style. 44 horsepower, 5 speed box with silky smooth shaft drive. Dual Mikuni carbs fitted which have been recently rebuilt, not converted to single carb as many are. YICS system fitted as standard.
Cast alloy wheels with decent tyres, ultra comfy stepped seat that has been professionally recovered. Chrome mudguards front and rear that shines like a mirror. Aftermarket clutch lever, mirrors, headlight, headlight cage and brake master cylinder/ lever. Rear pannier/ luggage rack included with two leather panniers in decent condition should you want them.
