CURIOSITY/ STORY OF THE VEHICLE: ATTRACTIVE DESIGN, SPORTY PERFORMANCE. The Fiat X1/ 9 1. 3, a true icon of the 1970s/ 1980s designed by Bertone and produced by Fiat from 1972 to 1989, conquered with its unmistakable wedge design and the distinctive removable targa top. Powered by the brilliant 4-cylinder 1. 3 derived from the Fiat 128 and mounted in a central position, it offers a perfect balance between sportiness and driving pleasure. Compact, elegant, original and with vintage charm that never dates, and even today a car capable of standing out wherever it goes. Original TO black plates. Registered with ASI.

Cooling system cleaned, water passages and radiator. Brake pads replaced in '23. Last full service March '25 (to date not even 1, 000 km driven). Complete new timing kit available to replace the current one. New spark plugs.

DEFECTS TO NOTE:
EXTERIOR: A few light scuffs on the front/ rear bumper and two colour chips (1 front centre / 1 rear left corner). Windscreen with the so-called glass cancer at the bottom right corner.
INTERIOR: Black tape along the entire inner edge of the windscreen and on the driver’s sun visor, central console with a 2 cm vein at the fixing screw, roof with flaking and a few scratches on the small storage compartment lid.
OWNERS: 5 in total. The booklet notes an encumbrance expired in the 1980s.

>In 1971 Gianni Agnelli, president of Fiat, visiting the Bertone plant in Grugliasco, noticed the prototype of an evolution, from small barchetta with a targa, of the Autobianchi A112 Bertone Runabout: the Fiat 128 Bizzarrini Sport with a rear engine, built for competition. Finding it suitable to replace in the Fiat range the now aged 850 Spider, also produced by Bertone, it was reconditioned and sent to Turin for industrialisation, a process named X1/ 9, kept as the commercial name of the model. The X1/ 9 remains to this day the only Fiat with a mid-engine.
