Description

1994 Eunos Cosmo 20B Type 2 SX
I have owned this car for 4 years.
It has been off the uk roads since 2010 when a previous owner removed the engine.
I purchased with no engine and have spent my ownership buying the missing engine parts.
This is a complete car apart from the missing engine, engine loom and ecu.
Externally the body and paint are in great condition as the car has always been dry stored or covered if outside.
The coils and igniters are fitted, the prop shaft, intercooler, gearbox and gearbox loom are removed but come with the car.
The car also has a stainless cat back fitted.
Being the Type 2 SX (sports extra) you get the black interior and lower, stiffer suspension from factory.
Factory floor mats still fitted and interior presents very nicely apart from a small tear in the drivers boulster which is repairable.
The car comes with Work Equip 05’s which were refurbed a few years ago with new Toyo tyres that have done a few hundred miles on another car.
All the suspension and brakes are untouched since the car was taken off the road.
I have always been tempted to either build and fit the 20b that I have sourced with a single turbo and a manual gearbox or stick a 1UZFE under the bonnet.
Either route requires mods that take the car away from stock so I am offering for sale before any potential mods are carried out.
With that in mind I can offer 2 possible engine options with the car.

Option 1: 20B
I have sourced most of the key engine parts over the years, these are:
20B engine plates, A code, lapped and ready to go.
20B rotors and counter weights
3x very good FD housings
20B inlet manifold, plenum and throttle body
20B sump
20B twin turbo pack
The only major missing component is the E shaft.

Option 2: 1UZFE
I have recently purchased a running with mot 1997 Lexus LS400
Its a pre facelift car, non vvti thick rod, the one people want.
The car has just had the lights and a few interior components removed, the rest is complete.
It still starts, runs and drives and my plan was to remove the engine, box and ecu and fit it into the Cosmo.
This way you could retain Toyota reliability, auto box, injection system, ecu, air con and power steering etc.
The 1uz makes good power and torque and would make for a nice cruiser, like the original car was intended to be.
Being a running car it could be driven onto a trailer and moved around as a normal car.

The asking price includes the cosmo and all 20B spares and if you wanted the cosmo and the LS400 with no 20B parts then it would be significantly cheaper.

Viewing welcomed in Bristol.

Car is garaged and well lit so evenings aren’t a problem.
