Description
For sale is my beautiful sunbeam Lion. Made in 1930 (as shown on the V5) but it's a 1931 model Lion. Manufactured pre 1931 means its eligible for VMCC events and rides like The Banbury run, which I did in this bike in 2024.
This model was only made for one year (the following year they had a detachable head) so this is quite a rare bike.
There is a few gearbox spares with it because I brought the bike as a non runner a few years ago and when I got it going I found the gearbox was no good. I managed to get an excellent replacement gearbox and I swapped the internals to keep the correct gearbox number on the bike. Sunbeams were known as a high a quality bike that were very quiet and smooth running and this bike is no exception. I have fitted a bicycle speedometer and I have checked it's accurately against a satellite speedometer. She is very comfortable cruising at 50 to 55 mph and will pull up steep hills like a steam train.
This really is a superb bike that needs nothing.
It has it's original registration which I believe is transferable, Although this is something I would never do.
