Description
One of the rarest early 3rd-generation Ford Econoline E350 window vans in the UK, imported from North Carolina, where dry conditions preserved its solid chassis and original patina. Extremely scarce in the UK and rare even in the US, this 1976 example is a genuine collector opportunity.
The van is mostly original, with the 351 Windsor V8 engine still fitted with its genuine Motorcraft carburetor. It has a C6 three-speed automatic transmission and Dana 60 rear axle, while front disc brakes and F350-derived Twin-I-Beam independent front suspension make it a highly capable, durable heavy-duty van.
Inside, all original hard trim remains — dashboard, dials, switches, stalks, door hardware, window winders, rear pop-out windows, and all external windshield and taillight trims. The passenger seat is original, and all seating is period correct. Interior panels are not original, as the van underwent an interior upgrade at some point in its past. Optional blue Audi leather seats are included for a modern driving experience if required.
Structurally, the chassis, frame rails, and floors are solid, though there is professional welding required to the footwells around the dog box area. The sliding side door has some bodywork required to match the van’s otherwise excellent panels — these are straightforward improvements for a collector or restorer.
Driving & Collection: The van runs and drives, but has been stored for some time, so recommissioning is recommended before regular road use. Collection is by flatbed transport only, due to the size and weight of the Econoline — it cannot be collected by trailer.
Sitting on Pro Comp wheels imported from the US with Goodyear Wrangler tyres, it has commanding presence. With its original patina, solid body, and classic 70s styling, this van is perfect for restoration, a bespoke adventure build, or as a preserved piece of American automotive history.

The 3rd-generation Econoline (1975–1991) revolutionized the American van market with body-on-frame construction, offering unmatched durability, payload, and towing capacity. The E-350, the one-ton heavy-duty variant, was critical for ambulances, Class C RVs, commercial vans, and other demanding applications.
Its long-nose design improved serviceability, cabin comfort, and legroom, replacing the older “doghouse” engine cover. Twin-I-Beam front suspension, F350-derived chassis, and heavy-duty brakes gave it truck-level handling and strength.
The 3rd-gen E-350 became central to 1970s custom van culture, making it both a workhorse and a style icon. This example is UK-registered, first UK owner, imported from North Carolina. With very few early 1976 E350s in the UK — and rare even in the US — this van represents a genuine collector opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
