Capots Vintage presents this very beautiful MGA 1500 Convertible, one of the most iconic English roadsters of the late 1950s.
As evidenced by its British Motor Heritage certificate, our example was originally delivered to the United States in April 1959. It is today in excellent overall condition, having undergone a complete restoration carried out with care and attention to detail.
This MGA stands out with a very elegant configuration, pairing an Old English White exterior with a burgundy leather interior. The four wire wheels, painted in the same burgundy shade, further enhance the car’s character and give it a particularly original and refined presentation.
Under the bonnet there is its original 1, 489 cm³ four-cylinder engine, fully rebuilt, mated to a brand new four‑speed gearbox. The combination contributes to the driving pleasure of this MGA, while boosting its reliability for everyday use.
This restoration covered both the mechanical side and the aesthetics. The bodywork has in particular been removed to allow a thorough rebuild executed to the highest standards, while the chassis was treated with epoxy paint. Many body components were also replaced with new parts.
The burgundy leather interior, mechanics, gearbox, running gear, and braking system have all been completely rebuilt, allowing today a particularly sound, coherent and reliable example to be enjoyed. We hold a substantial dossier of invoices and numerous photographs documenting the work carried out.
The car is supplied with its black PVC hood and its burgundy alpaca tonneau cover, perfectly matching the interior.
