In perfect condition
This stunning 1954 Jaguar XK140 SE Fixed Head Coupe embodies the heritage of British automotive history. With its silver paint, red leather interior, burr walnut dashboard and 16-inch red spoked wheels, this classic exudes timeless elegance. The car is not only a visual delight but also a technical masterpiece bearing a rich history.
The Jaguar XK series began in 1948 with the introduction of the groundbreaking XK120. At the time it was a revolutionary model that combined speed, refinement and technical progress. This line reached new heights with the XK140, produced from 1954 to 1957. The "140" refers to 140 mph, a considerable speed in the 1950s. This model also offered more power, a refined chassis and a roomier interior, making it suitable not only for swift runs but also comfortable enough for everyday use.
The Fixed Head Coupe variant, with its fixed steel roof, added an extra dimension of elegance and practicality without compromising the sporting look that Jaguar is famed for. With only 1, 966 examples of the FHC (LHD) built and even fewer in SE (Special Equipment) specification, this model is today an extremely sought-after classic.
This particular example, a rare SE specification (Special Equipment), was delivered in 1954 in the United States. In 2021 the car found its way to the Netherlands, where it was owned by a passionate car enthusiast. This new owner undertook an extensive and meticulous restoration to return the Jaguar to its original splendour.
Thanks to the excellent condition of the bodywork there was no welding needed, and the body was repainted in the current silver. All seals and rubbers were replaced. The interior was completely renewed with high-quality red leather, preserving the timeless luxury of the design.
