Description
We are delighted to offer this lovely UK right hand drive Alfa Romeo 1750 Boat Tail Spider to the open market for the first time in over 50 years!
The Spider was first registered in Stoke-on-Trent on 4th July 1969 (one of only 286 RHD 1750 Spiders produced in 1969). It was purchased by the current owners late father, Basil Lamb, from G A Baines & Co of Formby on 1st December 1973 for £995! (Invoice in history file). Mr Lamb was a keen Alfa Romeo enthusiast having previously owned 2 Alfa Romeos (a Bertone GTV and a Giulia Super). He became the Alfa Romeo Owners Club North West Section Secretary and served in that role for over 20 years!
The Spider is being offered for sale on behalf of the current owner, Chris Lamb, who has recently spent over £7, 500 bringing the vehicle upto the standard you see here today. The Alfa is in excellent overall condition and finished in classic Alfa Farina red with contrasting black interior. The car is currently fitted with the rare factory Pininfarina designed hard top.
The mileage of 91, 000 miles is believed genuine, although unfortunately cannot be verified. The car benefits from being MOT and Tax exempt, however, it will be supplied with a NEW MOT for piece of mind.
The Spider has had a fast road Harvey Bailey lowering kit fitted with Bilstein shock absorbers, the standard steel wheels are shod with excellent period correct Pirelli Cinturato tyres.
The 1750 engine gives lively performance through twin 40 Weber DCOE carburettors, which was rebuilt at approx. 90, 000 miles and is mated to the excellent 5 speed gearbox.
Overall a lovely Boat Tail Spider that is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner!
