Condition
This E60 M5 drives without fault and has no mechanical or electrical issues at all. The car is used for weekend duties and has never failed me. Even when doing the odd commute to work and back, the glorious M5 never lets you down!
Exterior wise, the M5 is in great condition given its age. There are the odd stone chips or slight marks here and there, and there is a minor scuff on one of the BBS alloys, but overall the paint has held up extremely well having been detailed and evidently well-kept throughout its life.
Interior wise, aside from some slight wear on the driver bolster, it is also in fantastic condition! There are no rips, tears or major marks on any of the leather, there are no squeaks or rattles from any of the equipment, and everything works as it should.
Maintenance & Service Work
As mentioned this E60 M5 comes with an impressive amount of service history. Being a 5. 0 liter V10, keeping up with maintenance and servicing is key, and the documentation for this car certainly shows that it has been well-kept for.
The all-important 'major jobs' have also been done, also evidenced in the car's service history. This includes but is not limited to:
- Rod bearings replaced by CPC Auto Services in 2017 at 92, 307 miles (car is now on 112, 000 miles - barely been driven in that amount of time!) along with high pressure VANOS pipe.
- Clutch and flywheel replaced by CPC Auto Services at 96, 052 miles along with a new transmission unit.
- Throttle bodies, DSC pulse generator and ABS sensors replaced at 100, 523 miles.
- New battery fitted in 2020 at 103, 133 miles by BMW Listers King's Lynn.
- New rear brake calipers fitment in 2021, along with new rear brake pads, new inner track rod ends and new rear brake pipes.
- New fuel injector, seals, gaskets and clamps along with fitment of genuine battery cable in 2025.
- Recent major service in March 2025 including oil change, power steering fluid change, new power steering pulley and gaskets, fitment of feed and return pipes.
- Replacement of rear main oil seal in June 2025.
- Latest oil change done in August 2025.
This M5 also has a custom valved exhaust system within the back boxes! With either of the two remote fobs, the M5 can start in a quiet civilized mode, and then at the flick of a button the sound of that V10 symphony can be heard in full! It sounds incredible and makes it an even more rewarding driving experience.
The result of all of this preventative maintenance and service history is that this BMW E60 M5 drives, stops and steers without fault, and is perfect for either that daily commute (if you don't mind the mpg figures!) or that weekend blast!
Any Issues?
This M5 is nearly 20 years old, and as mentioned there are some light signs of wear on the exterior - some stone chips and marks here and there.
The only known issue is a rear parking sensor fault. I suspect the sensor just needs changing.
Aside from this, this E60 M5 stops, steers, corners, and drives flawlessly, and with that amazing V10 engine up front it is an incredibly intoxicating car to drive and experience! In short, this BMW E60 M5 is a must-have if you are wanting a fast, understated, comfortable, high-performance saloon car. It is arguably the pinnacle of BMW's M division, and has one of the greatest engines ever fitted to a production car.
