Description
An interesting old Saab, had lots of money spent over the years to create what we see here, a Lombard RAC rally car replica for the road. The colour is bright! Goes without saying really, looks the part and tbh with further expenditure could be eligible for historic rallies? Make your own decisions on that route?
The body is very solid, some blistering here and there but overall the car presents well and does get a lot of interest as you do not see that many about nowadays. The underneath has had welding some good and some bad, personally I would spend £500/ 600 and have it all tidied up, it does not require an mot and thankfully R from accounts didn’t hit the classic cars last month!!!
Interior is old but useable, the front carpet has been lifted as there are a few leaks!!! Everything except the horn and spots work I will attend to the former this week, brakes are good fronts new together with lower arms, wheels and tyres. Engine is the old reliable V4 unit which starts with ease and ticks over once warm, gears change as they should, heater works , rad fan has permanent live feed.
I bought it to tinker with and give the lads at work a challenge in any quiet moments .
It’s a great basis to take to the next level and further enhance or even compete in?
