Description
1992 Jaguar Sovereign in British racing green with low mileage.
I have owned this car for 7 years & really enjoyed it, mechanically it has always performed really well. Engine Is very powerful and smooth & gearbox changes as it should. The car has been used on many long trips & never let me down. Reason for sale is I also have another XJ40 in regular use & need the space.
Over the years I have carried out a fair bit of work on the car including reconditioned front calipers, alternator, new shock absorbers, new water pump etc. The most recent job carried out was replacement front windscreen along with some very high quality metalwork repairs (rust due to old windscreen not sealing properly) I also have pictures of all this work.
The car is very solid underneath for something that is 33 years old and can be viewed on a ramp. Paintwork is reasonable but not perfect, overall this is a very usable & presentable XJ40 which has a great classic look & wouldn't hesitate to use for any trip.
Car has lots of history some good, some bad. Previous owner had it since it was 5 years old I have original advert & sales receipt, service book etc. However in 2006 when the value of these cars was low the car suffered damage to the front wing & bumper and the insurance company estimated cost of repair to be higher than value of car so they wrote it off, the owner bought it back & paid to have the repair work done privately. Being shown the details of this before purchase it has never been a concern for me. I have driven a number of XJ40s and this car has always been one of my favorites in the way it performs and drives.
