Description
Ive owned this P6 since about 2007. Its not really been used a great deal and it has always been dry stored and recently the last 4 years in my air conditioned showroom. Its a very genuine car with just 3 owners from new. It came from the local Rover dealer in Hitchin and sold to a manager from a local hotel then spent its life in Kent till i purchaased it. I have a great collection of MOT certificates from 1979 to about 2012.
Within the last 4 years the cars been to a Rover specialist to have the headgasket replaced, the calipers rebuilt and the rear suspension inspected in the areas that can fail. These were then shot blasted and powder coated.
I had electronic ignition fitted on the car a while back too.
The car is being sold with two faults that i know of.
Currently the car is running rough and is chucking too much fuel into the cylinders, it really could do with the carbs refurbishing and setting up. One of my last drives to work the dash lost its power and the rev counter fuel gauge and indicator lamps stopped working. They then came back to life so this will need to be looked at. I don't like running the engine too long as i don't want to keep putting fuel in the bores.
Its a really lovely looking car and deserves to find a great home, i've loved looking at it outside my office and on a really warm day the leather smells amazing as you walk past it. I've been offered a Mexico Brown P6 which is what my dad had when i was a child and thats the only reason im selling it as I was going to send the carbs to Carburettor Exchange in Leighton Buzzard.
Any questions please feel free to message me.
